walking with the God who redeems
walking with the God who redeems
We believe the Bible is God’s living and active word to us - through which the Creator of the universe speaks into our lives, transforming us by the power of His Spirit and calling us to trust the redeeming work of Jesus Christ. In small groups, we learn how to prepare and write Bible studies, and receive encouragement and feedback from experienced leaders. Join us for a week of challenging and inspiring teaching, training in practical areas of ministry, and fellowship with believers from around the country.
Costa is the senior pastor of St John's Anglican Church in Christchurch. He and his wife Teresa came to NZ from the UK in 2005 and are grateful to God for their three Kiwi-born children. He loves his family, Christ's family, and enjoys playing cricket and reading history books, but still gains most delight when people come to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. He is a gifted preacher and will be speaking from the book of Luke.
Steve is the founding leader of the RICE (Renewal and Inter-church Evangelism) movement in Sydney, Australia. He is passionate about evangelism, preaching and seeing people understand and use their God-given gifts. Steve is married to Naomi, and they have four children. He loves using his preaching gifts to call on people to step out in faith and follow Jesus wherever He may take them. He will be speaking from the book of Exodus.
Equip Conference is designed to be completed over three years, with delegates completing one strand each year. These small groups are where you will learn how to handle God's word correctly and teach it to others!
This year, for the first time, we are offering a Youth Strand called 'Rising Leaders'. See below for more details.
In strand one you will learn how to understand a New Testament passage and prepare a Bible study.
In strand two you will learn how to understand an Old Testament passage, and prepare a Bible study.
In strand three, you will learn how to discover what the whole Bible says on a particular topic and prepare a Bible study.
We encourage delegates who have completed all three strands, to return to Equip Conference for a fourth strand as a volunteer. Our volunteers work in the background to make sure the conference runs smoothly. If you would like to volunteer to help in this way, please register as a strand four delegate.
In the afternoons at Equip you will attend different workshops which look at practical aspects of Christian ministry. Over the course of the week you will have the opportunity to attend workshops on things like evangelism, youth ministry, leading a small group, discipleship, personal holiness and more. There will be more information on our 2016 workshops coming soon, so watch this space!
Rising Leaders is a brand new strand at Equip Conference for youth who have completed year 11 or 12.
You'll be built up in your leadership, and anchored in a Jesus world view. Over the week you will develop a personal training plan to help you continue growing in your Christian leadership and godliness.

Join us as we sing praises to our Heavenly Father, listen to His Word preached, and share fellowship together. It's a great way to be a part of the conference and to get a taste of what a full week at Equip is like.
